Where do we draw the line between being an animal and being human?
Inspired by ancient Chinese legend, spiritual teachings, and philosophies, I created a hybrid sculpture of a tiger that shows the interconnectedness of humans and animals. It reflects the relationship of nature and culture.
It is also based on the Chinese custom of dressing children in tiger hats for good luck and protection. I found it’s interesting because scholars said the custom originated from Greek God Heracles. The warrior’s lion skin hat turning into a cute baby’s tiger hat can’t stop me from pondering over self-transformation and adaptation.
